Instructions
In a large mixing bowl, toss the chicken pieces with olive oil, salt, pepper, and any other optional spices. Ensure each piece is evenly coated.
Grilling: Preheat your grill to medium heat (around 350-400°F or 175-200°C). Make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled.
Baking: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
Slow Cooker: Place the seasoned chicken in your slow cooker. Add a little chicken broth or water to the bottom if needed.
Grilling: Place the chicken on the preheated grill. Cook for 6-8 minutes per side for boneless, and 8-12 minutes per side for bone-in.
Baking: Arrange chicken on the baking sheet. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Slow Cooker: Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until cooked through.
Once the chicken is almost fully cooked (5-10 minutes before done), start basting generously with the honey BBQ sauce.
Continue grilling or baking, basting occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened slightly. For slow-cooked chicken, stir in the sauce and let it warm through.
Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Let the cooked chicken rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, marinate the seasoned chicken for at least 30 minutes. Apply the sauce in layers for a better glaze. Feel free to adjust the amount of honey and BBQ sauce to your preference.
